I admit it. The older I get and the longer I serve in
pastoral ministry, the more I look forward to Christmas. I
can't wait.
The lights, the colors, the wonder, the beauty, the
excitement, the glow in children's faces, the music, the
candlelight, the mystery, the joy, the carols, the worship,
the shepherds, the angels, the quiet, the bustle, the love -
it all gets to me deep inside.
Most of all, the wonderful story of God reaching into human
history, becoming one of us at Bethlehem that he might lead us
to life becomes more breathtaking with each passing year. This
year again we are invited to follow the shepherds, responding
to their gentle invitation, "Let us go see this thing
that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us."
Meet you at the manger.
